prawn pincho w romesco // salt pastry baked baby beetroot w sheeps milk yoghurt // scotch egg // marron tail

Our encounter with Movida Aqui two nights before left me wanting to showcase Movida at its finest, at Hosier Lane.

Prying open the crust of the pastry reveals a snug whole beetroot, staining its surroundings a deep purple. The marron plump & juicy, a special, with a smoky char. The prawn pincho was not as I recalled - a prawn paste with nutty romesco.

air dried tuna loin w air baguette // quince paste cigar w whipped goats milk cheese // spanish seafood pasta

The cigar is crisp & sticky with cool, sweet quince, encircling the airy musky goats cheese. The lightness of the air baguette wrapped in salty tuna loin fell short of the air baguette we had at 41 Degrees or the miniairbags we had at Tickets Bar in Barcelona.

house cold smoked spanish mackerel w pine nut gazpacho sorbet // salt cod brandade w potato crisps & pil pil // slow cooked pork jowl w apple

The hot pork jowl was stunning - gelatinous with a soft crunch, acidity from the apple - jelly, puree & crunchy apple cubes.

I was craving that sensational piping hot salt cod brik pastry cigar with pilpil I had last time around, and the brandade was no match. The cold smoked mackerel with the gorgeous pine nut gazpacho, a new favourite.

char grilled lamb rump w marinated capsicum salad // air dried wagyu w poached organic egg & truffle foam

A must - the intense yet tender wagyu, swept through the heady cloud of truffle foam & creamy yolk makes for quite the mouthful. The lamb and the beef were brightened by the cajun & peppers but the tapas still have the edge over the racions.
