I lived along Franklin Street for two years while I was still in Uni. How have I never heard of Sung’s Kitchen? If you’re looking for some decent Chinese dishes in the city, give Chinatown a miss and head here.

Fresh fish in a light broth peppered with chilli.

How do I not know about this dish when everyone I’ve spoken to is completely bewildered that I’ve never come across this dish. “It’s everywhere in Malaysia.” “It’s popular in Hong Kong.” WHAT? It comes with a beautiful glistening yolk perched in the middle which they proceed to break and scramble in front of you. This divine dish of egg white and crab meat. I would come back solely for this dish, and by solely I mean I’ll have a meal consisting of this dish alone.

White tofu in an egg sauce.

Ribs in a sweet tangy sauce.

Wasabi beef, an interesting combination. The beef was a little overdone.

Pipis in XO sauce, a little tough.
That egg white and crab dish is a winning dish for me.
