Tazio Birraria Pizzeria Cucina
66 Flinders Lane
A stone’s throw away from my office, I’m no stranger to the delectable thin crust pizzas they have at Tazio’s. I have had plenty of takeaways after numerous late nights, and spent quite a few lunches and occasional after work drinks here. More often than not, I set out determined to stick to a 10”, but end up caving in and indulging in the 12”.
Porco Carne - Pork & Veal Meatball with Goat’s Cheese
Juicy hearty meatballs with goat’s cheese, on the rich side but one of the popular ones.
Della Mare - Tomato, Mozzarella, Chilli, Garlic, Prawns & Fresh Spinach
They have a wider selection on the menu but after a disappointing deviation or two, I know the pizzas are a safe bet, and for as long as I can remember, I can’t bear to pick anything other than the Della Mare. I’ve traditionally avoided seafood pizzas as I find them rather poorly executed. But the Della Mare is fantastic. Thin crust, crunchy prawns, rich cheesy goodness and a spicy tomato base. I’ve been so spoilt by Tazio’s that I find myself shunning any pizzas with prawn elsewhere because I know it’ll just end up disappointing. Terra Rossa this means you.
Angiolina - Tomato, Mozzarella, Hot Salami, Anchovies & Olives
Just look at them, you know it’s going to be good.
