Mocha J.
Mocha Jo’s
87 Kingsway
Glen Waverley

Ordinarily, there are only two reasons why I am ever at Glen Waverley. Bikram yoga and Shira Nui. We found ourselves at GW for a late dinner after a beach run & swim. I loved the vibe of the Kingsway strip around Mocha Jo’s. It was vibrant and lively, tables and chairs spilled onto the walkways, music and laughter all around.

Lemon Pepper Calamari - Fresh Calamari dusted in Lemon & Pepper seasoning & Mustard Mayonnaise ($21.9)
The calamari was quite tender, but I had hoped for less batter around the calamari. They kindly replaced the chunky chips with more salad. A bed of fresh rocket, cherry tomatoes and parmesan. I had hoped for a lighter batter coating.

Camembert Chicken Mignon - Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken Breast stuffed with Camembert cheese, Spinach & Shiraz Jus ($24.5)
The sage, herb & garlic kipfler potatoes were subsituted with some chinese greens.

Corn & Zucchini Fritters, Avocado Salsa, Wild Rocket & Chilli Jam ($13.5)

Grilled Moroccan Spiced Tiger Prawns, Traditional Panzella Salad & Lemon Yoghurt ($21.9)
We had to wait for a while for a seat even though it was half past ten, and I am told MJ is always this popular. The food is pretty decent and it has a great vibe.
