Comme itself is quite expansive, with a private function room upstairs, and a charming wine bar in addition to its dining room. The dining room itself is dark and cosy.

Seared Scallops, Oscietra Caviar, Soured Apple, Crisp Kiflers & Young Watercress
The scallops are beautifully seared, topped with caviar and Kifler potato crisps.

Braised Burgundy Escargots, Crisp Confit Garlic, Lardons, Champignons & Parsley Mousse
I loved the tender escargot morsels, the delicious pork fat cubes, and the juicy champignon mushrooms. Everything went beautifully with the smooth velvety parsley mousse surrounded by gorgeous jus.

Olive oil poached Hapuka, white Asparagus, French Girolles, Green sauce & Onion Cream
The crispy skin provided a nice contrast to the slippery smooth fish, with little bits of crispy golden chanterelles and a light onion cream.

Valrhona Chocolate Torte, Salted Caramel & Passionfruit Sorbet ($17)
Incredibly rich silky chocolate indulgence and a tangy passionfruit sorbet.

Comme does French well. I wasn’t bowled over by Comme, in part due to my choices for the night being fairly safe. I especially loved my escargot dish, and I can’t wait to see what new play on escargots they do next.
